If you ask any Rangers fan about the team’s first PBA season performance they will tell you "It was one crazy freaking ride" (quote by life long season ticket holder.) The team made many moves at the beginning of the season geared toward trying to win the World Series by going out and getting Goldy, Billy Hamilton, Wil Myers. Brandon Kintzler. Leading many to believe they would be a series player for a Ring. However, the Rangers first half of the season was horrific and made many fans want to drink themselves to sleep. This lead to Rangers GM Clayton Piper making moves geared toward the future by parting with Adrian Beltre, Wil Myers, Johnathan Lucroy, and others. By making these trades they were able to load up top prospets Francisco Mejia, Jason Groome, Kyle Lewis, etc.
Which made the front office feel great about the future of the team. All though many expected Rangers to keep up the bad play after these trades it did the opposite. “It lit a fire under our asses and made us become a closer and more competitive team." said Ranger ace Yu Darvish (through his interpreter.)
Yu is right it lit a fire under there asses indeed. The Rangers went from possibly landing a top ten pick to becoming the host of an epic wildcard game. They also took there ALDS series 7 games against the Houston Astros who had the best record in the American League. All though they lost Game 7 in devastating fashion the Rangers are looking to build of the 2017 and comeback stronger than ever next year and try to win their first World Series for the great fans here in the great state of Texas and those nationwide.
