The Rangers agreed to send Prince and a prospect to the mariners for a $1 in order to free up money. All though Prince was one of the best when in his prime he is well past it and all though Texas loved his leadership and presence in the clubhouse it was time to move on to free up more money. RP Keone Kela had this to say "Prince was my dog and really helped me learn what it takes to be a big leaguer." Billy Hamilton went on to add "love prince one of the best teammates i ever had and wish him the beast in a mariners uniform."
