It’s been a difficult offseason so far for the defending AL West Champions. With front office departures by Scouting Director Kevin Towers and Assistant GM Josh Byrnes, the Astros are looking to restructure their front office.
When asked for comment GM Ryan James said “It’s just unfortunate how things worked out. They were obviously part of the old regime here, and sadly it just didn’t click. They decided to move on, and I wish them luck. We’re happy with the direction of our organization.”
Reports from Houston describe the front office situation as “tense” during the past season. With one source describing Byrnes as “a clown with a big ego”. Despite this the Astros rolled through the regular season, and look to improve this offseason.
