After coming into the season hoping to contend for a championship and making many major moves to try and improve are chance of obtaining the ultimate goal, the Rangers have officially decided to become sellers after having a depressing 31-44 record to this point. All though we aren't officially going into rebuild mode we are trying to make moves that will help us restock the farm which took a major hit due to us making major trades at the beginning of the season. After seeing Wil Myers dealt to division rival Seattle Adrian Beltre had this to say "its very upsetting to see a great talent like Myers leave us, but when we under perform we shouldn't be surprised to see high talent guys to be traded." Shortly after Adrian said this the Rangers announced that anybody can be had for the right price.
Scouting Director Kipp Fagg had this to say about Kyle Lewis " He is a very talented kid and we are very excited to have him in are system. There is a reason he was a first round pick a while back and it's just because the kid can just flat out mash the ball. Cant wait to see what Kyle, Billy and The Big Chill (Nomar Mazara) will do for us in the outfield once he is ready.
The rangers were also thrilled to get top prospect Francisco Mejia in a trade with the Indians. "All though we had to part with Lino, Perez, and Kintzler we are excited about the group of young prospects we got back, especially Mejia! That kid can flat out ball" said Rangers GM and Manager Clayton Piper.
This move also makes many wonder if Lucroy wont be returning next year. Only time will tell.
All in all the Texas is dissipated with how the season is going. However they are looking forward to making a strong comeback next year.
