As my team is kind of in limbo, I can move some spare parts around as I look to the future. Tapia will be phased out by Brandon Bossierre next season and injuries have plagued him this year. He puts the ball in play and plays good defense on the corners. At worst he's a good backup on a playoff team and Seattle fits that description better than Colorado does. He can be a more contact-oriented complement to Max Kepler off Seattle's bench and may even start. I'm happy and hopeful he can contribute to a contender and he eases some of my outfield logjam.
May is mostly to make the salary work, though with my depleted rotation, he may be able to start or at least pitch out of the pen. If his personality is too rough, I can send him to Triple A when my staff heals up.
Wasn't going to ask for much for Tapia, and McCurley has a chance to be a major league reliever.
