Rockies 3 Key Stats







6.66: Yes an evil looking stat, and one that Luis Noguera sees everytime lately when he peers 90 feet from the mound. Not only does he fear hitters lately but his evil FIP. For Luis we have to wonder if he is Forever In Purgatory. Luis is off to a horrendous start and one has to wonder how long GM Erick lets him stay in purgatory or looks to process his claim. Will Milwaukee help this? Well they might purge him from the game. The Brewers happen to be the best hitting LH team in OPS this year (National) with .836 OPS. Granted it pales slightly to Noguera's ERA of 8.39............





4: Rockies current win streak. Impressive but will be a major feat to keep intact considering they are on road and facing NL Central Best Brewers at 21-8





4: Another bright number to round up from the actual 3.8 WAR projection of current 3b Nolan Arenado. This isn't too far and excessive off his high of 3.2 WAR last year. If the Rockies are to compete this component could carrry them into the post season if in the picture as the year closes









Brewer's 3 Key Stats







.254: I'd be mildly dismayed if this was Danny Tammaro's batting average but sadly its his slugging percentage. His batting average is barely registering a beat at .141. He is really struggling and the Brewer's while deep, have counted heavily on Danny to slug them into contention.





3/3: Sounds like a good day at the plate, unless ofcourse you are a pitcher named Whalen. And worse a reliever/closer who has blown 3 saves in last three opportunities.





61: Another rendition of Roger Maris? This is the projected HR total currently for All Star Mike Perches. His All star pace (and MVP style pace) must take the edge off the poor Tammaro showing.

For Erick, you are on a 4 game win streak. Have you made any modifications to continue this against stiff compettition like Brewer's?



Are you at all concerned that the Brewer's are atop the league against lefties and you are scheduled to throw two lefties at them?



Have you considered throwing anything else at them? Like perhaps insults like some unnamed GMs who get royally annoyed with the Brewers?



The Brewer's don't have many deficiencies but one might weaker spot might be the pen? any thought or intent to exploit this?













For Luke. You have faced more LH at bats than anyother NL team and have fared exceptionally well at this. Were you proactively prepared for this, or line-up was already insulated to weather? Also a good segue into Tammaro. He has never been great at hitting lefties. Is he collateral damage here with teams potentially lining up lefties to counter players like Danny?

What is your plans for the Wombat?

1. Between Grant Stein and Nick Rollins we've had a pair of guys who crush lefties. The lineup is very balanced when those two are in it. This year and last I haven't really been as concerned when we face LHP. I think what's going on with Tammaro is too many Cardinals games and a very low BABIP. He's already got 21 PA vs LHP and he only had 55 vs them all of last season. I attribute that to Cardinals pitching nonsense. I might have to change up our outfield approach versus them later this season.

2. The pair of Danny's on our team are former college teammates and good friends. They are both long time vets. Both aren't having the best starts, but they and we both expect them to improve.

3. I'm not too worried about our bullpen. A lot of these guys have super high BABIPs above their career norms and we're still 6th in NL bullpen ERA. Everyone is still getting their strikeouts too. The walks definitely have to slow down though. I'm not really sure why our team walk rate has spiked so far this season.

4. He'll be in the lineup a few times this week as we work him back in from his spring injury. He's got one of the best eyes in the league so we always try and get him his ABs.

For Erick, you are on a 4 game win streak. Have you made any modifications to continue this against stiff compettition like Brewer's?

Not really. We're not going to make too many modifications since our team is still in flux and we're still learning about ourselves. We have a few players returning from the IL in Raimfer Salinas and David Dahl, so they're in, but they would be in against any team. We have a few guys who need a day off, but they'll be sitting tomorrow as that's a game against Mike Arnold, and he's nearly impossible for us to beat. We'll tank that game and take our chances tonight and on Wednesday and Thursday.

Are you at all concerned that the Brewer's are atop the league against lefties and you are scheduled to throw two lefties at them? Have you considered throwing anything else at them? Like perhaps insults like some unnamed GMs who get royally annoyed with the Brewers?

The Brewers are also excellent against righties, at least historically and on paper. No matter who I throw at them, any player who isn't an elite arm will struggle, and I have tons of non-elite starters. I'm going to need to hope to outscore them. My insults can be deflected by their fact that they won two titles and have made the playoffs for a half decade.

Yes, I can play the platoon game pretty well now that my outfield is healthy again. That should help me in a close game.

It was a fantastic game with both Starter's notching an excellent outing. Sadly for Colorado, Montgomery found his groove and pitched a gem by 1 hitting Rockies over almost 8 innings.

I imagine you find games like this infuriating when a struggling pitcher like Noguera pitches a stellar outing only to have it overshadowed by a dominant outing. How do you address your team after a week like so? They held there own against a power house Brewer team on the road only to lose a series to Arizona at home over the weekend. You must see series like the one against Arizona as essential and winnable? Surely you view your upcoming series with SD as such? Are you having a pint with Riley soon to express this?

Are you concerned with your Home record or take some solace knowing that it will likely correct itself?

Beau is eligible to come off DL? What is plan with him? Do you have any other pending moves to inject some shift into this teams trajectory?

You must be buoyed by Montgomery's performance. He has pitched steady so far but this outing pads his stats and confidence. Your starters are rolling along. You have an upcoming day off and a big opponent in PHI pending. Any adjustments to your Rotation schedule to counter a strong PHI offense?

Mulvey is scheduled to return to action; what is your plan of attack here?

I mean, Arizona is a good team too. The disappointing thing wasn't battling to Milwaukee and losing to Arizona, it was battling and not beating Milwaukee when opportunities were there. We saw the pitching for games two, three, and four of the Milwaukee series, and while Montgomery is better than his lot as a fifth starter, he's the guy we needed to beat. Luis Noguera pitched well and allowed only two runs. We needed to find a way to score three and we didn't, and that's extremely frustrating.

Are you concerned with your Home record or take some solace knowing that it will likely correct itself?

I am concerned because we're not hitting. We should be able to hit well at Coors, but we're last in home runs. I'm very concerned our offense simply isn't good enough to compete this year, especially at home.

Beau is eligible to come off DL? What is plan with him? Do you have any other pending moves to inject some shift into this teams trajectory?

Beau will be back, and we're going to DFA Logan Warmoth. We're hoping to sign another outfielder to get more depth to our offense. That's never something we've needed to worry about with a glut of outfielders in our past, but the injury to Danny Davis and having Brandon Boisierre off the team has limited our outfield depth.

1. It’s looking like our 4, 5, and 1 starters will line up with Philly. Not much we can do about that but I trust them all. Hopefully Philly cools off a bit by then. Roy will have to get tested by them at some point. Might as well be now. Straub and Arnold are veterans, they’ll be ready.

2. Mulvey will be back off the IL and we’ll roll with 11 pitchers this week. We need to make a roster move soon though. We’ve got a bit of a logjam.
