THE DESERT STAR
Diamondbacks announce Ben "Hon" Nuzzo as new head of Baseball Operations. PHOENIX - This morning the Arizona Diamondbacks officially announced that they have hired Ben "Hon" Nuzzo to be their new GM. Hon will oversee the D’Backs baseball operations and report directly to Owner Ken Kendrick. "We are thrilled to have agreed to a deal with Hon to make him our new General Manager,” Kendrick said. "We promised to Diamondbacks fans that we would look at all possible options and that we would do everything possible to identify the very best person to lead our baseball operation. We believe Hon is that person." "I would like to thank all members of the Diamondbacks organization and all of the Diamondbacks fans for this opportunity. I take this position because I believe in this young roster and I believe I will be able to take our young core to the next level and forge a team that will be competitive for many years to come," said Hon at his introductory press conference. Hon is scheduled to sit down and answer further questions from the media tomorrow morning.

So Hon, now that you've settled into this job what do you expect from this team in the upcoming season?
This team is filled to the brim with young talent. One of the first moves that I made as Head of Baseball Operations here was to hire Matthew Johnson as the bench coach because I believe he will have a very strong positive influence on the development of our young players. If our young players develop as we expect and believe they will, then the wins will come.
If you had to put a number of games on it?
We can certainly improve on last year's record if that's what you are asking.
There have been a lot of marquee players traded in the past week or so. Were the Diamondbacks involved in any of those trade talks? Can we expect you to be aggressive as a GM?
To answer your last question, you can not expect me to be aggressive as there will be times where being aggressive is not the best direction for the organization. You can however expect me to be thorough. As for the marquee players moving, if there are marquee players on the move we are and will be sure to at least inquire on the price and see what the organization would have to give up to bring said marquee player onto the roster. Sometimes that price is too much and we walk away, other times we are outbid but we will be involved in talks to further benefit our team.

I think you should be active and trade Gallo out of the division! Haha If anything the plan will be to build the offense to work better with Gallo's unique skill set.
